Panta Rhea Updates

Dear community, In the spirit of Panta Rhea, we’re reaching out to share several updates. Our foundation’s name is inspired by the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus and roughly translates to: “You never step into the same river twice” or “All things change, all things flow” — suggesting both inherent constancy and change as fundamental as life itself. Already, this year embodies that idea! At Panta Rhea we’ve been deepening global relationships with our sister foundation, Schoepflin Stiftung, and The Spore Initiative. Our board and staff engaged directly with our counterparts in Germany, and also met with current and potential partners in Mexico and Martinique. In November 2021, Hans Schoepflin, my father and founder of the Panta Rhea Foundation, transitioned off the Foundation’s board. While it is a bittersweet moment in Panta Rhea’s evolution, it is also a moment to celebrate and honor his incredible legacy and to mark a years-long, intentional intergenerational leadership transition process. Dear Community, At Panta Rhea, we continue to be guided by “all things change, all things flow,” the Greek meaning of our organization’s name. In December, Ann Dowley, who served as the director for the foundation’s Resilience & Renewal  program for more than ten years, sunsetted her staff role with us to focus on a counseling degree and expand her coaching practice.
